Carpet Cleaning FAQs

Q. What are the black lines found along the baseboards and under doorways?
A. Light colored carpet can experience dark line trails frequently. Filtration soiling occurs from air passing through the carpet as it is attempting to get through the crack between the carpet and the baseboard or under a closed door. When the air passes through the seam of the carpet pile, the microscopic soiling is deposited there. After a sometime, the buildup will become noticeable. Where it can be difficult to remove, Carpet Care 2000 can remove it with special products, equipment, time and effort, to achieve optimal results. In order to minimize filtration soiling, simply vacuum and wipe the edges of the carpeting on a regular basis. However, we recommend you exercise caution as you work around the tack-strip along the edge of the carpeting, as it could pick your fingers if you are not careful.
Q. Are your cleaning and protection methods safe?
A. Carpet Care 2000 uses only the safest, most effective technology and detergents to ensure not only your ultimate level of clean, but your safety as well.
Q. What is one of the ways carpets get cleaned?
A. Carpet Care 2000 is certified in all methods of cleaning and gives your carpets the most effective clean possible. We will clean your carpets according to the material of fibers and most optimal procedure to ensure your carpets are clean, sanitized and deodorized.
Q. How long does the carpet take to dry?
A. Depending on the circumstances, your carpet can take 2-6 hours to dry. The carpet will be damp to the touch. Contributing factors are weather conditions, room temperature, air flow, and overall conditions.
Q. Does professionally cleaning carpets ruin your carpets integrity?
A. No. A common misconception. Most carpet mill experts and manufacturers recommend professional cleaning at least once per year; more often if needed. The buildup of grit, grime, and debris in your carpet in combination with foot traffic creates abrasion that breaks down your carpet’s fibers. The higher the traffic in a given area, the more often the carpet will need cleaning.
Q. Does your cleaning process saturate the backing and padding of the carpet?
A. Although our deep cleaning process rinses the carpet deep down, the moisture does not penetrate the backing of the carpet. With our powerful truck-mounted extraction equipment, your carpet is thoroughly rinsed, but will feel damp to the touch because we extract nearly all of the moisture we add (as well as the dirt and contaminants in your carpet).
Q. Can pet odor come out of carpet?
A. Pet odor is a very common problem and can prove to be a challenge. At Carpet Care 2000 we can help you deal with your pet odors that emit from your carpet. From minor problems to major headaches Carpet Care 2000 can help find the solution that works best for you. With diligence and application, our experts can help you rid your carpets of the pet odors that inflict your carpet.
Q. What does “clean to the standards? mean”
A. The carpet manufacturing industry, carpet cleaning industry, and the federal government all agreed upon a common set of standards for the carpet cleaning industry. These standards are now referred to as the CRI standards. CRI stands for Carpet and Rug Institute. Carpet Care 2000 offers all of these methods and can select the process that’s right for your needs. Common steps in the CRI standards include:
– Pre-vacuum
– Pre-treat spots, stains and heavily soiled areas
– Hot water extraction
– Comprehensive rinse
– Furniture moving
– Complete drying within 24 hours
