How to Remove Old Coffee Stains from Carpet & Make Spills Vanish in Carbona, CA

Avid coffee drinkers have a tendency to reach for the warm soothing and stimulating cup of a fresh brew in the morning and throughout the day. Some need their cup of coffee first thing in the morning to get the day started, or two cups, or three cups, the more frequently you reach for a warm rich coffee indulgence, only increases the likelihood of it spilling on the carpet. Treating fresh coffee spills can prevent stubborn stains from developing so, taking a moment to treat the coffee spot is essential as soon as it happens. Not only can an unsightly stain occur, but the creamers and milk can create some unpleasant odors if it sits. Today, we at Carpet Care 2000 would like to take the opportunity to share a few steps that will help get the coffee stain out of your carpet.

How to Get Coffee Spills Out of Carpet

1) Promptly blot the coffee spill. A fresh spill should immediately be treated by first using white paper towels or dry cloths to blot the excess moisture. Start the process by blotting the outer edges of the spill and work your way towards the center to prevent it from expanding outward. If the coffee spot is dry, lightly dampen it with water, them blot the excess moisture as you would if it were fresh.
2) Mix the carpet cleaning solution ingredients. Mix together 2 cups warm water (not hot), 1 cup of white vinegar, and 1 tsp of liquid dish soap. A spray bottle will help you better apply the solution, but a bowl or bucket will suffice. Either mist the inflicted area moderately or treat a clean cloth with the solution and blot the stain. Be sure that you use a dry cloth in between applications to avoid over saturation.
3) Never scrub or rub, only blot to treat the spill. When treating any spills, spots, or stains on carpets, it is crucial you never use scrubbing or rubbing techniques; only blot. Scrubbing and rubbing will only make the mess worse by spreading it out and pushing it deeper in the carpet. Not only can the carpet be affected, but so can the carpet padding and subfloor. If you need to work the solution into the fibers, simply use your fingers to work it in.
4) Should the stain persist. In some cases, you may notice the coffee only lightens instead of removes, you can make a paste adding a few drops of water to baking soda at a time. Apply the paste to the stain until it is dry and vacuum it up. Any light coffee residue and attached odors should be cleared.
