Urine, Sweat & Vomit Stain Removal & Mattress Cleaning Tips in Dublin, CA; Vacuum, Deodorize, Treat Stains & Professional Steam Cleaning

The mattress is a designated place of sanctuary. It provides comfort sleeping, a security nest for little ones when things go bump in the night, and a retreat when people are ill or in need of additional rest. It is estimated that the average person will spend approximately one third of their life in bed. Where getting a new mattress is fairly customary every so often, they are still used for several years. Mattresses require cleaning on a regular basis and periodically should be deeply cleaned. The mattress is in worse shape than meets the eye. Over the years, an accumulation of dirt, dust, oils, sweat, urine, blood, and other bodily fluids, mildew, bacteria, germs, mold, chemical agents from toiletries, pollen, and other contaminates are all being harbored.

Carpet Care 2000 Relate Some Tips & Steps to Thoroughly Clean Your Mattress & Remove Stains

1. Vacuum Mattress. With the use of your vacuums upholstery attachment and the hose, you can get the surface layers of particulates removed. Starting at the top of the mattress, vacuum the matters down to the foot of the bed by rows. For thoroughness, overlap the rows until you have completely vacuumed the top of the mattress and all four sides, don’t worry about the bottom just yet.
2. Deodorize Mattress. More often than not, before we realize the mattress has a pungent odor about it, it has already begun to fester with odors caused from sweat mostly. To nip it in the bud before it gets obvious to you, sprinkle baking soda over the entire top of the mattress and work it in with a medium firm scrub brush. For extra scents, add a few drops of essential oils to the baking soda. After you work the baking soda in, allow it to sit for 10 minutes.
3. Repeat Vacuum. The baking soda absorbed the odors, but also any lingering moisture. In the same row pattern, vacuum up the baking soda.
4. Mattress Stain Removal. More often than not, the three most common stains on mattresses are blood, urine, and additional bodily fluids. It’s always optimal to treat stains immediately, but sometimes they go unnoticed for a time. Do not use hot water as it can set in stains. Below are specific stain removal tips.
Cleaning Dried Blood: Formulate a paste with ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide, 1 TBS liquid dish soap, and 1 TBS salt. Gently rub the paste into the stains and allow it to dry, followed by scraping the it off and disposed of. If there is a remaining blood stain residue, dip a white cloth into pure hydrogen peroxide and blot u the remainder.
Removing Urine Stains: Urine is more difficult, but still possible to remove. Dissolve 3 TBS baking soda in 8 oz (1 Cup) of hydrogen peroxide and add 1-2 drops of liquid dish soap. Do not drench, but sponge the formula onto the stain and blot it out.
Clean Up of Additional Body Fluids (vomit, slobber, etc): Prop a window up to help with ventilation and blot the stain with concentrated and unscented household ammonia. Do not over saturate your mattress. Rinse with a clean, damp cloth and sprinkle baking soda to remove the excess moisture, and vacuum the area once it is dry.
5. Flip the Mattress: Flip the mattress and repeat the cleaning and deodorizing steps, and if needed the stain removal.
6. Additional Mattress Protection. For additional protection against stains and buildup, invest in a mattress color designed to repel water as it makes mattress cleaning far more simple.
