Nothing will stop your heart like spilling a bottle of nail polish on your carpeted flooring. When you have spilled a dark or bright color of nail polish, it can be especially frustrating. There is a moment of panic once you see that liquid ooze out of the bottle and onto your carpet fibers. Many people aren’t ready for it and don’t know how they should react to a bottle of nail polish spilling on the carpet. Carpet Care 2000 is here to talk about some of the best methods you can use to remove nail polish from your carpet.

Methods to Get Nail Polish Out of Carpet

There is definitely more than one way to remove nail polish from carpet. Some of these methods work better than others. Following is a rundown of our best picks for nail polish removal:
– Hairspray: For those that thought hairspray was only used to hold your hair in place, think again. It can be a helpful tool in removing nail polish. You should first wet the area with a generous amount of water and then spray about 15 sprays of hairspray on the stain. Using a soft bristled toothbrush, work to remove the rest of the nail polish out of the carpet fibers.
– Vinegar: This household ingredient is used for several different cleaning solutions, including nail polish removal. You need to completely saturate the stain with vinegar and then allow the liquid to sit on it for about 10 minutes. Once you have given it some time, you can blot the stain with a paper towel or a clean, white cloth. This can be repeated as many times as needed to remove the stain.
– Baking Soda & Ginger Ale: Baking soda is another ingredient found in most kitchens that can be a useful cleaning tool. You should completely cover the stain with baking soda. Once you have done this, saturate the baking soda with ginger ale. Let that sit for about 10 minutes to work at loosening the stain. Now you can scrub in a circular motion to successfully get rid of the polish stain.
– Window Cleaner: In a nail polish emergency, window cleaner can prove to be useful as well. The first thing you need to do is to remove the nail polish as much as possible before using the cleaner. Once that is accomplished, you can spray the window cleaner on the stain and work to blot and scrub it out and remove the polish.

Having a pet is very common in most households. Often when we seem to need it the most, they provide loyalty, comfort, and affection. Whether they have the occasional accident or even a chronic, most pet owners are quick to forgive after the abeyance of treating the carpets have vanished. In any case, the pet stains and the accompanying odors that are associated with it can be challenging to remove from the carpets. With this in mind, we at Carpet Care 2000 would like to offer some recommendations for removing these offensive stains and odors.

Stain & Odor Eliminator Tips

Below you will find the basics you need to apply to the process and some things you need to avoid during stain and odor removal process.
– To ensure it does not compromise the integrity or color of your carpet, be sure to test all cleaners and home remedies in an inconspicuous area.
– Only use white paraphernalia since dyes or print from paper towels, towels, and rags have the ability to be transferred onto carpet during treatment.
– Since it will only increase the depth of the stain, avoid rubbing or scrubbing as. Start working on the outer edges of the stain and work towards the center as you blot.
– Never use HOT water to treat pet stains; it will most likely cause the stain to set.
– Do not over saturate with any liquids during the process; use dry cloths to blot in between to control the moisture.

Pet Stain & Odor Remover Supplies

Collect the following supplies for stain and odor treatment:
– Towels
– Spray Bottle optimal or bowl/bucket
– Sponge or cloth
– 2 Cups Lukewarm Water
– 2 Cups Distilled Vinegar
– 4 Heaping Tablespoons Baking Soda

How Can I Remove Pet Stains & Odors from Carpet

1) Act Immediately. Between treating a pet stain fresh and one that has had time to set in, the difference is dramatic. Blot up the excess liquid and solid mess should be picked up, with your choice of rag or paper towel (or a series of them). Use an additional dry rag placed on the area with a heavy weight on top of it after you blotted to allow it to stand on the weight for a couple minutes. The more liquid that gets absorbed the better, and the easier the stain and odors will be removed.
2) Mix Solution. In a squirt bottle, bucket, or bowl, mix the white distilled vinegar and lukewarm water. The mess will need to be contained, so slowly add baking soda as it will fuzz. Without over saturation, apply the solution generously. Allow it to set for approximately 5-20 minutes.
3) Treat & Rinse. Blot the area well with a dry cloth or towel. Once the solution is removed, used a water-damp cloth to remove any residual solution.
4) Dry. Place a dry towel and weight it down, with books or other heavy objects. Once it is allowed to dry, follow up with a thorough vacuuming.

How to Remove Old Pet Carpet Stains

Spray lightly with water and generously sprinkle baking soda should you discover a pet stain that has dried out. Allow it to set for 30 minutes. Once it has thoroughly dried, vacuum well.
You need enzyme-based cleaner to remove pet stains since they are protein-based stain. Ensure enzymes are incorporated in the formula if you opt to use a commercial cleaning product designed for pet stains and odors carpet removal.

It is common to enjoy a good BBQ in the midst of summertime. With BBQs, however, comes greasy food, and though greasy food can be indulged in any time of year, the barbecues tend to increase the greasy food factor. Considering the influx of grease and the likelihood of it landing on the carpets, we at Carpet Care 2000 would like to offer some assistance in getting the grease from the carpet. 2) Administer the cleaner to the grease stain and for 5 minutes, to allow it to break down the grease without over wetting the carpet.

4) To avoid attracting dust and dirt, resulting in a brown spot, rinse the area free of residual solution, after the grease removal. Using a water-damp cloth, rinse the area.
5) Set a dry towel over the damp area and weight it down, let it sit over night and expedite the drying using fans if available.
6) Only when the carpet is completely dry, vacuum the are to return the fibers to their form.

Stain Removal Recommendations

The summertime is the season for a refreshing cool treat, and many people, young and old, will reach for popsicles to cool off and satisfy the sweet tooth. These little popsicle stains on your carpet are not too labor intensive if you know what you are doing though they can be quite unsightly and even cringe worthy if left unchecked. You can eliminate these stains especially with quick action. Considering this we at Carpet Care 2000 would like to take the time to share a few methods to remove the carpet popsicle stains.

How to Get Popsicle Stains with Hydrogen Peroxide

Make sure they are plain white, or you risk transferring dye or print onto carpet, grab a few paper towels, cloths, and one towel and blot the excess moisture. In the spray bottle, mix equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water. Keep in mind, peroxide has the ability to lighten color and though it is diluted water and should not impact the carpets, but you own risk and do not skip the patch test.
1) Add equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water in a spray bottle and shake well. Make sure to leave enough space in the bottle since it will fizz some and you will want to allow room for the fizz.
2) Due to the nature of this mixture, only dampen the surface by lightly misting it. Never over saturate the carpet. Before treatment, allow the mixture to breakdown the stain (10-15 min for minor popsicle spots, no more than 30 minutes for larger stains).
3) Carefully moisten the inflicted area by lightly misting plain water on the spot or use a damp cloth.
4) Blot the excess moisture out along with the popsicle residues with a white cloth. Rinse the cloth out or use a new one in the event the cloth becomes over encumbered with popsicle.
5) With a white, dry towel by blotting the moisture out, dry the treated area. To return the fibers back to their natural texture, vacuum the area once the area is fully dried.

Can Oxi-Clean Remove Stains from Carpet

Do not skip the patch test, avoid Oxi-clean with bleach as that can potentially lighten your carpet. You can scale according to the size of the squirt bottle if necessary, grab a squirt bottle ½ cup Oxi-clean 16 oz. water. White paper towels, cloths, and a towel, clean the area.
1) In a spray bottle and shake well, mix ½ cup Oxi-clean and 16 oz. water.
2) Leave it on the surface for 5-15 minutes after applying the mixture to the various spots.
3) To blot the area, lightly mist the area with pure water or use a damp a cloth. Make certain to rinse the cloth as needed or use a fresh cloth.
4) With more pressure, use your clean, dry towel to blot the remaining moisture from the carpet.
5) After the carpet is completely dry, dry the area to relax the fibers.

For many homes, the sofa in their living room is a focal point. Enough so that you want to make sure you are choosing the right one when you buy a new one. There are several things that you should think about to ensure you are choosing the right sofa for your home that include the color, fabric, style and size. Carpet Care 2000 is here to share some pointers that will you guide in the search for the perfect sofa for your home.

Furniture Scale to Room Size

Choosing the right sized sofa for your living room can be tricky. Of course, you want to be as comfortable as possible, but you may want to put scale at the top of the list of things to consider right there with comfort. It may be tempting to choose that sofa that is oversized and offers so much comfort, but you will likely regret it in the end if it takes over the space in your living room. You don’t want your sofa to eat up too much space. Generally speaking, you want to have 18 inches of space on either side of the sofa to move around.

Select the Right Size & Shape of Your Sofa

You shouldn’t have a sofa that just seems to float out into the middle of the room. You want the sofa to fit into the space you have for it. There are several different variations to the way that homes are laid out in today’s world. Many people like to live in a home that has an open floorplan. This is where you may want to consider a sectional sofa that can give shape to your space as well as separation.

Circulation & Traffic Space Around Upholstered Furniture

Something that many people forget as they are shopping for the perfect sofa for their space is the traffic flow that is alive in that space. Having a piece of furniture that impedes on the natural path of traffic in and out of a room can have a big impact on the overall feel of the space. You don’t want your couch to interrupt the energy that naturally flows through the room as well as physically get in the way of traffic.

Uses of Sofa

It may sound fun to say that you plan to entertain on your sofa, but you need to be honest. How often do you really have people over? Are you planning to use this sofa as a place to curl up with your next favorite book or are you planning on falling asleep on it as you watch your favorite show? If you entertain often, you may want a larger sofa, but if you’re in reality, only going to be using it with you and your significant other, choose the one that fits the space better.

There is nothing like the day that your new carpet is installed in your home. That fluffy, comfortable feeling underfoot is often the driving force when homeowners choose carpet for their flooring. When your carpet is first installed, the manufacturers always recommend vacuuming it on a regular basis to keep dirt from settling into the fibers of the carpet and to extend the life of your carpet as well. It is important to note that you cannot replace professional carpet cleaning with vacuuming for a number of reasons. Carpet Care 2000 is here to talk about why professional cleaning is still important when you vacuum on a regular basis.

Steam Carpet Cleaning Removes Bacteria

In the world we live in today, everyone is worried about the germs that we are exposed to. It is important to note that your vacuum isn’t going to do much to remove bacteria from your carpeting. You really can’t disinfect your carpet without having it deep cleaned professionally.

Does Carpet Cleaning Remove Allergens & Dander?

If you are an allergy sufferer, reducing allergens and dander in your home is a top priority. Even if you don’t have severe allergies, most people don’t want their home to be filled with dust and dirt, as well as dust mites. Vacuuming simply doesn’t cut it when it comes to removing allergens from your carpet. Professional cleaning is the way to go.

Removing Carpet Stains

No matter how diligently you are at trying to keep stains and spots from your carpet, accidents do happen. Obviously, you aren’t going to be able to remove spots and stains by simply vacuuming your carpet. Maintain Your Carpet Warranty

When you first have your carpet installed in your home, it will likely come with a warranty. However, it’s important to note that for this warranty to stay intact, you need to have your carpet professionally cleaned on a certain schedule. Most manufacturers require you to have your carpet professionally cleaned every 18-24 months, even though we recommend you have your carpets professionally cleaned at least once a year.

If you think about your house and the chores that seem to be on your list on a regular basis they are likely the same each week. You know that you need to do some laundry, clean the bathrooms, wash your sheets and keep the kitchen clean. You also know that on occasion you need to do some extra deep cleaning. The reason that deep cleaning is a good idea is that there are areas of the house that don’t need to have cleaning regularly but should be addressed occasionally. One of the things you do not want to overlook is the carpets, tile, grout and of course the upholstery. You might be thinking that you don’t need to have your upholstery cleaned because it looks fine. The problem is that your upholstery is holding on to debris that can have an effect on the house. Carpet Care 2000 outlines why you want to have your upholstery cleaned professionally.

Make Upholstery Look Like New

One of the things that you will start to notice about your upholstery is that it can start to look old, dingy and dirty. The problem is that you are sitting on the couch with your clothes you wore all day, putting your feet up that have oil on them and your skin is touching the couch as well. These are all things that can cause the couch to collect oil, dirt and debris that will start to make the couch look messy and not its best. You can have your upholstery cleaned professionally so that the look of your upholstery is at its best. Once the dirt and oil has been removed the better the upholstery the better it will look overall.

Improve Indoor Air Quality

Another thing that you should be worried about is the quality of the air in the house. The air quality is made up of the particles that are in the air on a regular basis. The problem is that the particles can be found on the floors, people, air ducts and the upholstery. The upholstery tends to hold hair, pet hair, dander, dust and dust mites as well. When these things are up in the air the quality will decrease and that can cause breathing and health problems. You want to make sure that if you are concerned about your air quality you have your upholstery cleaned.

Furniture Fabric Protection

You also want to make sure that you are doing what you can to protect your couches, chairs and ottomans. They are a part of the house that you likely spent time picking out and choosing to make sure that it matches what you want. The issue is that if your items wear out quickly you will have to pay to have them replaced. The best thing you can do to protect your couches is to have them cleaned professionally.

The work environment demands proper cleaning to keep the building a healthier and safer place. As most office building owners will work hard to do basic surface cleaning and sanitizing, often the carpet never gets the attention it needs. Carpets in an office building may be vacuumed almost daily. However, they need more than just that. Office carpets should have a deep cleaning to remove germs, bacteria, and viruses in the carpet about every 3 to 6 months. Carpet Care 2000 would like to share why it is important to have the office carpet deep cleaned.

Removing High Traffic Stains on Carpet

In an office, foot traffic is a daily occurrence. Foot traffic most commonly brings in dirt and is a cause for major soiling. However, foot traffic can also bring in germs, bacteria, and viruses, which people bring in from the outside. Employees in the office themselves can also spread germs, bacteria, and viruses directly. Humans also produce dead skin, dander, and hair that also is found throughout an office space. Food and drink can also get spilled on the office carpet causing stains and bacteria to seep into the carpet. When bacteria or fungi such as mold blooms in the carpet, it will release spores or molecules into the air and infect the office building. As many people well know, bacteria and fungi is never a good substance to have floating around in your indoor air. This is why professional carpet cleaning is so necessary. A professional carpet cleaning service not only cleans and removes stains including bleach spots in office buildings, they can also kill bacteria, fungi, and viruses. A professional carpet cleaning service has EPA carpet cleaners that can kill and remove unhealthier microorganisms that may be living in the carpet.

Steam Carpet Cleaning to Kill Coronavirus

When it comes to the safety and well-being of everyone inside the office, carpet cleaning is essential especially during this time of the current pandemic of the SARS CoV-2, better known as COVID-19 or the coronavirus. Due to the COVID-19 virus, carpet cleaning services have taken steps and have begun carrying EPA approved carpet cleaner that can kill cornoavirus. While janitorial and cleaning services are cleaning the surface of the building, seek out a professional carpet cleaning service to clean the carpet as well.
