Method #1 to Remove Fresh Makeup Stains on Carpet

1) Carefully scoop it up with a cloth or plastic spoon if you see any excess makeup on the surface of the carpet.
2) There is a specific solution you can mix when tackling how to remove makeup stains for each specific makeup stain. Look for the solution below for the correlating makeup mess.
– Nail polish: Use no fragrance, no-color, non-acetone nail polish remover.
– Lipstick: Rubbing alcohol or paint remove.
– Foundation (liquid): 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.
– Eyeliner and mascara: Combine ΒΌ teaspoon of dishwashing liquid with 1 cup of warm water.
3) Add a small amount of the solution to a clean white cloth after you have mixed the appropriate solution based on the specific makeup type of stain you are tackling. Without completely soaking it, dampen the cloth with the solution.
4) Using the saturated cloth, blot the makeup stain and avoid rubbing and scrubbing it. As much of the makeup residue out of the carpet as possible, it is important to firmly blot to lift.
5) If necessary, until the makeup stain is no longer visible repeat steps 1 through 4.
6) Spray the affected area with water to rinse out any solution once the stain has been removed. Vacuum the area once the carpet is completely dry.

Method #2 to Treat Set-in Makeup Carpet Stains

1) From the surface of the carpet, clean any remaining makeup residue.

5) Using cold water, rinse the affected area of the carpet. Until the stain is no longer visible, repeat above listed steps.
Important Note: It is important to conduct a patch test on your carpets before you use the solution. In an inconspicuous area, apply the solution you are using to ensure the carpet fibers are not compromised. Always make sure the area is dried after you have removed the stains removed. Once dry, vacuum the area well.
