How to Remove Permanent Ballpoint, Printer & Other Ink Stains from Carpet in Tracy, CA

Ink blot tests have always fastenated people. Like finding the picture it closely resembles in the clouds, they say that the pictures you see in the ink will say a lot about you. But when the ink hits the carpet, the last thing you need to be doing is seeing what the blot resembles. Where ink is concerned, time is of the essence. The longer ink sets into your carpet the more challenging it will be to remove until it gets to the point where it may not come out at all. With that in mind, we at Carpet Care 2000 would like to list a few methods on removing the nasty ink spot out of your carpet. When using any of these options, always remember to perform a patch test in an inconspicuous area to ensure the chemical reaction does not inflict the carpet in a negative manner.

Method #1: Rubbing Alcohol to Remove Ink from Carpet

Apply rubbing alcohol directly to a clean cloth and use the treated cloth to blot up the ink. At the stain, work the outside perimeter, towards the center. As the ink pulls up, be sure to use different areas of the cloth to sop up more ink. Continue this procedure as the ink lightens and eventually fades. Note, this can take 30 minutes or more so remember patience.

Method #2: WD40 Carpet Ink Stain Remover

Spray the WD-40, or spray lubricant, directly onto the stain and allow it to sit 15-20 minutes, do not over saturate, but cover the spot. With warm soapy water, sponge and blot up the ink and lubricant residue until the stain has vanished. Do not over saturate and if necessary, use a dry cloth to pull up the moisture in between application to minimize the moisture.

Method # 3: Liquid Dish Soap to Remove Ink Stain from Carpet

Combine 1 cup water and 1 tsp liquid dish soap in a squirt bottle. Moderately administer the soap solution onto the ink spot or sponge the solution onto the stain. Blot the stain in between applications until the ink is dissolved. If the stain is smaller, this method is most effective.

Method #4: Hairspray

If you don’t have rubbing alcohol handy, the hairspray in an aerosol spray can and might do the trick due to the alcohol content. Generously spray the hairspray onto the ink spot and allow it to sit for five minutes. With a soapy water solution, blot out the stain.
